Position Description:

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide hand and power tools as required for proper installation.
  • Make on site decisions for the best installation practices.
  • Layout and install low voltage wiring.
  • Compile a complete materials list from blueprints.
  • Verify and coordinate HVAC building code compliance.
  • Other duties assigned
  • Communicate clearly, the ideas and explanations of problems to customers and coworkers.
  • Encourage preventative maintenance agreements to homeowners.
  • Ability to work alone on projects.
  • Converse with building and homeowners, general contractors, referring questions and/or problems to supervisor.
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Compensation/Benefits

Position pay range

  • $10.00 to $ 20.00 per hour plus uniforms based on skills, experience, performance and on going training attendance.

Additional compensation

  •  Bonuses as Management deems earned and as company ability to pay.

Medical insurance

  • Eligible 60 days after starting.
  • Dental insurance, available 60 days after starting.
  • 50% contribution from KCA, Inc./50% from employee, before tax. (Medical)

Tool Purchase Program

  • Purchase of tools through paycheck deduction program. 

Training and Education

  • Tuition Reimbursement Program, up to 100% for classes directly applicable to job functions.
  • Periodic training from various equipment manufacturers, local utilities, national industry associations and KCA, Inc. in-house training programs. Both mandatory and voluntary.

Simple IRA

  • Eligibility for Simple IRA plan eligible after 1 year.

Holidays

  • Five (5) paid holidays after first complete year.

Vacation

  • One (1) week after first complete year.
  • Two (2) weeks after fifth complete year.
Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Be familiar with a wide range of equipment installation.
  • Experience installing new construction and replacement systems.
  • EPA refrigerant certification or willingness to attain.
  • Customer relation skills.
  • Have or acquire NATE certification within one year of employment.
  • Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
  • Operate forklifts, scissors and genie lifts in safe manner.
  • Knowledge of duct board practices.
  • Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques.
